Here's what's changed since the last update:
- The ATI question has been updated to reflect that there are now working 3D drivers for Fedora 10.
- Some people experience sound cracking or popping on their machines. I've added instructions on what to do about it.
- Fixed the Flash instructions.
- Fixed the instructions for installing Windows fonts.
- Two new translations: German and Portuguese.

Adobe, Apple working together on Flash for iPhone

Once thought to be building Flash for the iPhone mostly on its own, Adobe has mentioned at the World Economic Forum that it's not only continuing work on the animation plug-in but has teamed up with Apple to make it a reality.

Google Flags Whole Internet As Malware

We're not quite sure what's going on, but a couple of minutes ago any search result from Google started being flagged as malware with a message stating "This site may harm your computer". Including Google's own websites as you can see above.

Ma.gnolia Suffers Major Data Loss, Site Taken Offline

There was a meltdown at bookmark sharing website Ma.gnolia Friday morning. The service lost both its primary store of user data, as well as its backup. The site has been taken offline while the team tries to reconstruct its databases, though some users may never see their stored bookmarks again.

Japan's Hitachi warned of a record $7.8 billion annual loss due to weak sales, a firmer yen and costs to restructure its sprawling operations, joining a growing list of technology companies affected by the deepening recession.
That loss would be the biggest ever by a Japanese manufacturing company.

Britain unveils plans for universal broadband

Britain unveiled plans to provide universal broadband access on Thursday as it believes the £50-billion digital industry will help the country move out of recession.
A report by Communications minister Lord Carter said Britain would work to provide broadband access to the whole country at least 2 Megabits per second (Mb). He also intends to introduce legislation to force Internet service providers to crack down on Web piracy.

Google Earth Reveals 2-Acre Weed Patch to Swiss Police

Google Earth has helped police in Switzerland bust a marijuana farm suspected of doing up to $8.7 million a year in business. The police were initially using the application to locate a suspect's address, but as they scanned the view, they happened to glimpse the 2-acre farm, which was surrounded by rows of corn plants.

NEC will cut 20,000 jobs

Japanese electronics giant NEC Corp. says it plans to slash at least 20,000 jobs worldwide in an effort to cut 80-billion yen ($895-million U.S.) in costs over the next two years.
Toshiba Corp. is in talks to merge part of its chip operations with NEC's semiconductor unit, a source said, as a sharp global slowdown forces Japanese chip makers to cut jobs and try to band together.

Amazon profits from festive sales

Profit at online retailer Amazon rose 9% in the final three months of last year, as the company enjoyed a robust holiday shopping season.
It said net profit totalled $225m in the fourth quarter, up from $207m a year ago.
