Create a REST API with PHP
Submitted by Webmaster on Wednesday February 25, 2009
One of the latest (sort of) crazes sweeping the net is APIs, more specifically those that leverage REST. It's really no surprise either, as consuming REST APIs is so incredibly easy in any language. It's also incredibly easy to create them as you essentially use nothing more than an HTTP spec that has existed for ages. One of the few things that I give Rails credit for is its well thought-out REST support, both for providing and consuming these APIs (as its been explained by all the Rails fanboys I work with).

I need an embedded database for my next project. Fedora needs your help
Submitted by Webmaster on Tuesday February 24, 2009
As some of you know Fedora 11 will feature automatic font installation.
This is a genuinely new feature that does not try to ape what other operating systems do and play on Linux's traditional attention to localization and internationalization. It's a free/libre alternative to the DRM-ed distribution channels proprietary foundries are pushing right now.

Submitted by Webmaster on Tuesday February 24, 2009
While my life workwise is all messed up(tm) some days ago I had the chance to update my laptop to KDE 4.2 and here is my initial thoughts.
The upgrade itself was a bit rough, so unmerged 4.1.x before emerging 4.2. Installation went without any major problems, once the blockers were solved. One thing I immediately noticed was that many of the small issues that plagued KDE 4.1.x was now gone. Indeed KDE 4.2 is almost ready for everyday use.
